Hint #1

Dolichopodid Fly.

When taking photos of insects, whatever you do, don't block the light or the sun that is shining on them. When the light or sun disappears from where they are at rest, it generally means that a predator is after them!

Take a moment or two to stand back and observe the direction the light is coming from and then plan where you can stand and get that photo you're after.

Dolichopodid flies are particularly sensitive to the loss of light on them and they won't hang around to find out why it disappeared!
