When taking photos of insects, whatever you do, don't block the light or the sun that is shining on them. When the light or sun disappears from where they are at rest, it generally means that a predator is after them! Take a moment or two to stand back and observe the direction the light is coming from and then plan where you can stand and get that photo you're after.
